I have previously written a post with reasons why people choose me to provide their house cleaning service. But for balance, here are the reasons why people choose NOT to use me based on previous feedback.....
She's too busy - I consistently receive glowing feedback and 5* reviews and the majority of my work is via referral from happy and satisfied existing clients. As a reputable and highly sought after professional, is it any wonder why I am always in demand and have a waiting list when there are other cleaners/companies available? I have often had clients who have waited several months to use my service, rather than searching for another cleaner or company who could start straight away. Sometimes even I wonder why they are waiting that long. But it all comes down to my reputation, my fabulous reviews and word of mouth recommendations from so many people. I take SO much pride in what I do. My business values include high standards, communication, flexibility, trust and going the extra mile. These values are what attract my clients and make me worth the wait.
The cleaner down the road is cheaper - I earn a real living wage and don't scrimp and save by using cheap, harmful products and compromising on health and safety. I charge enough to make a profit and to keep my business sustainable. My rates reflect my commitment to quality, ethical working practices and investment in comprehensive training and premium, professional eco-friendly products, setting myself apart in an unregulated industry. And I also appreciate that when my clients pay me, that's money they've worked incredibly hard for and so I will work hard for it too. My clients deserve the best service I can give, for the human time and effort that it's worth. If you're looking for high quality work, going 'cheap' is not the way. Pay an affordable, reasonable amount and receive an amazing service without any complaints, rather than paying less only to be unhappy. I am known for my reputable work and my testimonials speak volumes. I'm in high demand, I respect your home and take pride in my work. Pay cheap, you buy twice.
She only cleans posh houses and might judge me - While my main income nowadays is cleaning and housekeeping large private homes, I clean and have cleaned in all sorts of environments. I am non-judgmental, mental health friendly and have cleaned up everything from biohazardous material including bodily fluids, vomit, faeces, blood, urine and animal waste to drug paraphernalia, needles, mould and nicotine. I have cleaned hoarder's homes, drug dens, properties that have been damaged by tenants, properties that have been damaged by fire and much more. I really have seen it all. I often have conversations with people wanting a cleaning service but they've been too embarrassed about their home to ask me. I never, ever want people to feel like that. I get told all the time "I bet your home is spotless". Well sometimes it is, but sometimes I too really struggle and my house is an absolute tip! Some of my clients have stunning homes and I share photos on here to show how beautifully clean I've made it, but guess what? They too have hired a cleaning service! We're all overworked, tired and are trying to get through our lives as positively as possible. You will not get an ounce of judgement from me if the housework slips through the cracks, just empathy and an eagerness to help.
She uses that eco-friendly rubbish instead of good old fashioned bleach - Some cleaners will turn up at your home wielding a cheap bottle of bleach and have the nerve to call themselves a 'professional'. This may have been acceptable 50 years ago but times have changed and so has cleaning. I have previously talked in depth as to why I don't routinely use bleach and choose to use eco-friendly, sustainable cleaning products instead. I won't repeat it all again but in short, bleach can cause serious harm to both your health and your home. There are far better (and safer) alternatives and I will never compromise on the quality of the products I use in order to maximise profit. So no, I won't leave your house stinking of cheap bleach. I'll leave your home smelling like a 5* spa.
She won't clean my house in a couple of hours like I can - I can clean your house in a couple of hours (in fact it's likely I could clean your whole house in under an hour), but I won't. The reason being is that there is a huge difference between the quick wipe around and a whizz about with the hoover that we give our own homes, and a high quality, thorough, professional house clean. I strive to provide the best service possible on every clean I carry out, therefore I do not base my services on a client dictated timescale. I base my services on how long I feel it will take to clean your house to a standard that I am happy to put my name to and that is actually worth paying for.
Moral of the story - You will always be "too much" for some people. To others, you are perfect. Fall in love with your home again. I'm at the other side of the phone.
