FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Which areas do you cover?

Broadland Housekeeping is based in North East Norfolk. I have a full driving licence and can travel to client's homes in Stalham, North Walsham, Wroxham and the surrounding villages. I can sometimes travel further afield to Cromer, Sheringham, Holt, Great Yarmouth and Norwich on request.

Are you an agency?

No, I am an independent cleaner/housekeeper who works alone. This means that unlike some agencies and franchises who routinely send different cleaners into client's homes, I am able to offer a dedicated and consistent service to my clients with a familiar face that you can get to know and trust. And unlike many agencies and franchises, my service is completely bespoke. Each and every home is different which is why I tailor my services to suit each client, rather than a 'one size fits all' approach. I always begin with a free consultation to establish your cleaning priorities and requirements. It also allows me to assess the amount of work involved and identify any areas of your home which require extra attention. I will work with you to create a cleaning routine that works for you and your home - not somebody else's.

Do you provide the cleaning products and equipment?

Yes, I provide everything needed to clean your home (and if I don't already have it, I will source it). My kit includes high quality professional cleaning products (including premium brands such as Delphis, Method and Purdy & Figg), top of the range Dyson Animal HEPA microfilter vacuum cleaners (suitable for all floor types with a full range of deep cleaning tools), professional grade cloths, mops, dusters, brushes, sponges, erasers, lint rollers, grout tools, crevice tools and cleaning blades as well as PPE. As well as performing well and smelling amazing, nearly all of the products that I use are eco-friendly, ethical and cruelty free too. I even mix some of my own products in-house using totally natural, eco-friendly ingredients. I am also happy to use products that you may want me to use but I do ask that you please let me know beforehand so I can download the safety data sheets for my records.

Can you help me with anything else besides cleaning?

Although I provide a house cleaning service first and foremost, I can help my clients with other household tasks such as general errands, home organisation and pet care. Having looked after some of the most prestigious homes in the area over the years, I understand what it takes to keep a larger home in order and pride myself on my traditional housekeeping services. If you have a larger home or estate and are looking for experienced, professional help, please get in contact to discuss your requirements. To view a full list of what I can help you with, please visit my services page.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have business and public liability insurance for up to £5,000,000 (a copy of my insurance certificate is available on request). I am also DBS checked and my business is fully licensed and registered.

Should I book a regular house clean?

If you want to keep your home looking at its best, I would always recommend booking a regular house clean (either weekly or fortnightly). As well as keeping on top of a regular cleaning schedule, it allows me the time to focus on cleaning other areas of your home that can be overlooked such as windows, woodwork and light fittings. If you wish for a less frequent clean, I can sometimes accommodate monthly and seasonal house cleans subject to availability. I will always do my best to accommodate your preferred day, time and clean frequency. However as a reputable and highly sought after professional, there are occasions where I have a waiting list which you will be given the opportunity to join.

How much do you charge?

Please contact me directly to arrange a free, no obligation quote. All quotes are bespoke and customised to your individual home and requirements. Quoted prices include all cleaning products, materials and equipment with no hidden charges. My prices are non-negotiable and I do not price match.

How long will it take you to clean my house?

That depends on a number of variables including the size of your home, where it is located (eg. whether you live close to dusty fields or beaches), how it is furnished, your lifestyle, whether you have pets or children, how much time is left between cleans, whether you want a general clean of the whole house or a deeper clean concentrating on a specific area, etc. During your initial consultation, I will take a look around your home with you and I will be able to advise you as to how much time I feel is needed to clean your home. I prefer to concentrate on the cleaning rather than the clock, so my priority is high quality, professional standards of cleaning over speed.

Will I meet you beforehand?

All new clients will have an initial consultation with me and this will be arranged at a convenient time for you. Having a stranger in your personal space can be daunting so the consultation is arranged for this reason. It is an informal and non-judgmental meeting and you will get to show me around your home and fill me in on exactly what you want from my service. The meeting is also a chance to go over details such as any allergies, meeting pets, any special requirements and if you are going to be providing a key or code etc. It is also a chance for you to put a face to the name and to have a good chat with your new housekeeper. Your happiness is the most important aspect of the meeting so please ask me any questions that you may have. All new clients will also receive a welcome pack before I commence work.

How do I pay?

You will be supplied with an invoice at the end of each clean. I accept payment via electronic bank transfer although I can accommodate other forms of payment on request. Most clients choose to pay me at the end of each clean but I am happy to arrange an alternative payment schedule if preferred.

Do I need to be in/out when you arrive?

Only if you want to be. Many of my clients choose to be out while I work as an empty house is easier to clean and lovelier to come home to. I can however work around you if you are working from home or just having a day off. If you are out when I arrive then you will need to ensure that I am able to gain entry to your property. Some clients have a key safe and I can also securely hold keys. Alarm codes, keysafe codes and keys are stored safely and confidentially at all times.

Are you okay with dogs?

Yes, I am a dog owner myself and am comfortable and confident around dogs of all sizes and breeds. But as with all relationships, it may take time for your dog to get to know and trust me so I will ask to be properly introduced to your dogs first before commencing work. I am also comfortable working around other pets you may have including cats, birds, insects and reptiles.

What if I don't want anybody to know I have a cleaner?

That's not a problem, I completely understand the importance of security and discretion. I provide a trustworthy, confidential service and my car is not sign-written. I have a strict privacy policy, comply with data protection laws and supply written non-disclosure/confidentiality agreements to all clients.

Do you provide 'one-off' cleans?

Although I mainly provide a regular domestic cleaning service, I occasionally have availability for one-off deep cleans, end of tenancy cleans and moving in cleans. Please contact me directly for current availability.

Do you take on commercial clients?

I am sometimes able to accommodate commercial clients. Please contact me directly for current availability for holiday let, Airbnb, business and office cleaning. I am committed to providing a top quality service that is tailored to the specific needs of each individual business, ensuring your business premises looks presentable and inviting for customers and staff alike. Holiday let and Airbnb changeover cleans can also include laundry, welcome packs, consumables, forwarding guestbook comments, checking alarms, changing lightbulbs and maintenance checks.

What happens if I want to cancel?

I understand that sometimes things come up and circumstances change so I choose not to tie my clients down with lengthy contracts. All I ask is that if you wish to cancel your scheduled clean, please give me at least 24 hours notice if possible so your cleaning slot can be offered to someone else.

If you have a question that I have not answered then please get in touch and I will be happy to answer.
