Hi, I'm Liz, the owner and founder of Broadland Housekeeping. Before launching my cleaning business, I spent years in the retail industry, specialising in homewares and visual merchandising. I had the privilege of working with several luxury retailers, collaborating with renowned brands like The White Company, Ralph Lauren, Molton Brown, Jo Malone, Emma Bridgewater, Orla Kiely and Fendi Casa. While I loved my job, my colleagues and the customers I met along the way, my perspective on life shifted after the sudden passing of my dad. It made me reassess my work/life balance - long, irregular hours in a high-pressure environment were taking their toll, especially as I navigated my grief. That realisation led me to take a new path, one that aligned more closely with my values and wellbeing.
As the saying goes, "a change is as good as a rest" and eventually, I made the decision to leave the retail world behind and work for myself. Let's be honest - starting a cleaning business isn't exactly a childhood dream for most people! It's often something you stumble into rather than plan for, and that was certainly the case for me. But I've always found cleaning to be both satisfying and therapeutic, and I really enjoyed the part-time cleaning jobs I had as a teenager. With my background in customer service, home presentation and visual merchandising, launching my own small cleaning business felt like the perfect fit. I genuinely love what I do and take pride in knowing that my work makes a real, positive difference in my clients lives - some of whom have been with me since day one. I also have a deep appreciation for interior design and I love seeing how people's homes reflect their personalities and stories. More than anything, I enjoy making those spaces look their absolute best. For me, cleaning is incredibly cathartic. I don't even listen to music or distractions while I work, I simply enjoy the process, the rhythm and the time to focus.

Our homes are more than just spaces - they shape our emotions, wellbeing and daily lives. I truly believe that our environments, especially our homes, are deeply connected to how we feel. A calm, well kept home creates a sense of serenity, while a chaotic space can feel overwhelming. That's why I find so much joy in helping my clients achieve that sense of peace, allowing them to focus on what truly matters in their lives. My approach to cleaning is built on a genuine love for what I do. I'm always researching and refining my methods to provide the most effective and efficient service possible. My passion for homes, animals, kindness and of course, cleaning, has allowed me to build strong connections with my clients, many of whom feel more like friends. Running my own business has been incredibly fulfilling. The flexibility to set my own schedule and choose the work that aligns with my values allows me to bring my best energy to every job. I love the freedom of working on my own terms - it keeps me motivated, cheerful and reliable. It's proof that when you create a positive work environment and have the ability to shape your own career, any job can be truly rewarding.
When I'm not working, you'll most likely find me with my nose in a book! I have a deep love for literature, poetry and storytelling. It might not sound thrilling to everyone but for me, there's nothing better than curling up with a great book, a mug of Yorkshire Tea and Classic FM playing softly in the background - pure bliss! Beyond reading, I have a variety of other interests that keep me busy, including cooking, playing the double bass, kickboxing, yoga and researching local history. I also love spending time outdoors, especially on long countryside walks with my husband Nick and our Dogue de Bordeaux Daisy.
Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to get in touch through the contact page - whether it's business related or just to share a great book recommendation. I'd love to hear from you!
Take care,
Liz x
