Bathroom Deep Clean

Updated: 1 day ago

A deep clean is a more detailed and comprehensive type of cleaning than a regular clean and can totally transform a room. It means cleaning away all kinds of dirt and grime that has accumulated over a long period of time on the deepest surfaces or corners of the house, paying attention to those areas that are not always cleaned so frequently. When I first begin work with a new client, it's the service I like to begin with as a deep clean will set the standard going forward.

I'm sometimes asked how long I'll need to do a full house deep clean. I can't give an exact answer to that question and there are a number of reasons for this. A deep clean is not a simple 'wipe down'. It's removing limescale, cleaning mould, dusting from top to bottom, pulling out shower plugs, cleaning windows and much more. It also depends on the severity of the dirt. One house may need one limescale treatment to make a shower screen perfectly clear and shiny. Others may need numerous treatments to achieve the desired finish. It's not a service that can be rushed if you want the best results.

In my experience, most bathrooms take around 2-3 hours to complete, but can take anywhere up to 4 hours for a full deep clean depending on size and the level of build-up. So why does it take so long? Products need to be left to work and often applied, scrubbed and rinsed more than once to achieve the desired result. Removing weeks, months or even years worth of build-up is no mean feat. Meticulously removing limescale from multiple fixtures and bending to reach the places you can't see, is neither quick nor easy, and extra care and attention is required when cleaning around damaged or broken fittings. Cleaning bathroom storage and products, unscrewing shower heads and plugs and soaking shower screen seals requires an effective and efficient routine to ensure a detailed clean can be completed in a timely manner. It's not just a 'quick wipe around'. It's the thorough and precise removal of body oils, skin cells, body hair, grime, grease, limescale and traces of urine, faeces and general dirt.

Making the most of your consultation, whether in person or over the phone, will help determine any areas of your bathroom that you don't want or need cleaned which can affect the overall finish, time and price of your bathroom deep clean. The process of cleaning when done correctly is not a quick spray here and there. It's the little things that make a big difference. It's the extra 5 minutes spent getting rid of a stubborn mark on a hob that a client thought would need replacing. It's not just cleaning the cap covering a shower drain - it's pulling it out and cleaning it fully. Every room benefits from a thorough deep clean from time to time (ideally every 6 months). Here is my checklist for a bathroom/cloakroom/en-suite deep clean.....
