Choosing A New Vacuum Cleaner

Let's look at the things you should consider when looking to buy a new vacuum cleaner. Buying a vacuum seems like a straightforward purchase but there's lots to consider when investing in one. There are different floor types, your level of dust tolerance and the vacuum's configuration and filtration system for starters.

  • Vacuums generally come in five different configurations - upright, canister, stick, robotic and handheld. Each type has its pros and cons.

  • You need to think about the weight of the machine and whether you go for bagged or bagless. If you choose a cordless, how long will it last and will it have the suction power you are looking for?

  • You need to think about the filters, particularly if you have people in the home with allergies. They also need to be regularly maintained and cleaned out to make sure you keep your vacuum in good working order. Also consider which attachments come with your vacuum.

Some of the best vacuums to consider in my opinion are Dyson, Miele, Sebo, Shark and Henry. But my best advice is to do your research and don't just go with the crowd.
